Let's embark on this fun English-learning adventure together! 💚 ABC Writing Letters and Sound Practice With Doh We will practice writing the letters (capital only), learning how to form them correctly and write them using the kindergarten lined paper (that I will attach to be printed out). We will go over the sound each letter makes and think of some examples of words that starts with those sounds. Finally, for the kinesthetic learners, we will make the letter with play-doh and continue to have a conversation about the letter and the sound to give more practice and help the brain process each letter and connect it with a picture and a sound. 💚 CVC, CVCC This class will introduce a different group of CVC words each class. When children understand how to blend 2 sounds together (a and t say “at”) they can put them together to make a new word (cat, pat, sat). We will use picture cards and letters to make different words! We will use playdoh to make the different beginning sounds. This will help kinesethic learners as well as make learning a little more fun! 💚 Digraphs and Blended Sounds. In this class, we will delve into more challenging words that can't always be sounded out letter by letter. Words with sounds like sh, kn, ch, ck, wh, th, and so on are known as digraphs. These sounds can be tricky because they don't follow the usual process of sounding out each individual letter, which learners have been accustomed to until now. In each class, we will focus on practicing a specific digraph sound, aiming to develop a deeper understanding of the sound and how to apply it to various words. 💚 Diphthongs This class will introduce a different group of blended vowel sounds each class. When children learn to read they learn to sound out the words. In the English language, unfortunately, we have so many sounds that are tricky when they come in a specific order. We will use picture cards and letters to make words with a different blended sound each week! We will use playdoh to create our words.
